On behalf o Chetana Special School presented the paper on "LIVELIHOODS FOR EMPOWERMENT OF PERSONS WITH INTELLECTUAL & DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES" on 12th December and made the difference among the participants. 

The Abstract of the same has been published in the Souvenir and circulated widely among the Corporate and NGOs.  

Looking forward to do such innovative and creative study with difference as an empowerment of the Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (PWIDDs).

SUPPORT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF DECADE SOUVENIR FOR CHETANA SPECIAL SCHOOL 2004 2014

Dear All

In continuation to the support extended for the Chetana Special School running under the umbrella of Chetana Foundation, developed the Souvenir on the successful completion of its First Decade (2004-2014) of its Service Journey and got released on 1st December 2014 at the campus of Chetana. Shri KV Ramana Chary, IAS 9Retd.), Adviser to the State of Telangana has released the same and appreciated to have such evidence based document for NGO.

ABSTRACT

          Disability is the barrier for development which works as cause and consequence of each other which further deepens the poverty. The disability population is quite high and alarming the stakeholders for developing effective strategies and interventions for identification, rehabilitation including prevention. This further marginalizes them with isolation and invisible. At this stage the concerns of PWDs, and their parents that ‘nothing about us without us?’ and ‘what will happen to the child after us?’ respectively needs better solution with ethics and values. CSOs are the key players in coordinating the Government, PWDs, Parents, Siblings and other departments for reaching the groups both quantitatively and qualitatively with effective service delivery systems. The study made with CSOs, Parents, Siblings, & PWDs each 15 samples with developed questionnaires has clearly reflected that they are very much committed for the cause of disability rehabilitation including prevention. The study has opened scope for detailed research and to address the issues of disability with innovative and creative problem solving solutions with better sustainability and quality

AT EVIDENCE AID SYMPOSIUM ON 20TH SEPT 2014

Dear All

The Evidence Aid, an international funding agency working in the areas of disasters has organized one day Symposium in Hyderabad on 20th Sept 2014 and i could get the opportunity to be part of this. 

Yes, day by day, disasters are becoming biggest barriers to achieve the development with sustainability and quality. Now it is concern of all the stakeholders is to review, think, plan, implement, monitor & evaluate the measures so that the health and wealth of the environment will be protected with lesser vulnerabilities for disasters of any such disturbances. 

The event well on well with presentations on the disasters, interventions, research, review, etc...on what things have occurred. This has become the lessons to move forward with the effective measures / strategies for prevention, mitigation and disability risk reduction (DRR).....

The suggestions made includes: assessment of impact on the groundwater with the mapping of saltwater-freshwater interface, suitable harvesting / watershed management so that water can be made with improved 3As which stands for Availability, Accessibility and Affordability.     

The event came to end with points for moving forward in general and specifically the Evidence Aid.

AT CIPS INNOVATION & ETHICS IN HEALTH SECTOR ON 13TH SEPT 2014

I had an opportunity to be part of the Workshop entitled 'Innovation & ethics in Health Sector' organized by CIPS (Center for Innovative Public Systems, Hyderabad) in Hyderabad on 13th Sept 2014.  

Yes it is the need of the hour and HEATH should be treated as Service rather than Business hat presently it is going on.  

The suggestions made have been considered to move forward.
