ABSTRACT
Pollution is
unwanted and unhealthy component of development and both has to be seen as two
faces of the same coin. The pollution can be seen in various forms like air,
sound, water and soil which affect the production, and quality. Among the areas
of pollution, transportation gains priority over the domestic, industries,
agriculture, power generation and disposal and is alarming in urban cities. The
people and environment is getting affected with the process of developmental
activities starting from inputs, processing, production, transportation,
utilization, recycle and disposal. The shift from people oriented development
to business oriented development and quality of life to standard of life
dominate by top down approaches resulted for high level of pollutants / pollution
and further affected the health and wealth of the people as well as the
environment. The challenges with pollution are many and results for global
warming, and climate change with unhealthy environments with poor quality of
living. On the other side, there exist several opportunities to adapt the best
practices for improving the production, productivity, and quality with
accessible, healthy and empowered environments. The civil societies have got a
key role on partnership basis with government and other agencies to reach the
targeted groups with problem solving solutions with better sustainability and
quality. The suggested initiatives and opportunities are simple and sustainable
matching to the given environment.

Statement of the Problem
Inefficient and
ineffective processes and management of production, storage, transport,
utilization, recycle and disposal have resulted for emission of pollutants to
environment and further affected health and wealth of the people as well as the
living organisms.
