ABSTRACT
The processes of Exploitation,
Mismanagement, and unhealthy Utilization of Natural Resources and resulted
Pollution added with the approaches of Business Oriented Development ends up
with the occurrence of hazards and disasters. Resources includes Air, water, food,
plants, animals, minerals, metals, and everything else that exists in nature and
the value of each such resource depends on its utility and other factors for
the benefit of people, environment and community. Water is the most precious
natural resources without which development cannot be planned and there is no
life. It is observed that Nation has got sufficient resources to cater the needs
of the people but not their greed. In view of the consequences of
Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization and shift from people oriented
development to business oriented development have resulted for unhealthy
challenges resulting for Global Warming, and Climate Change with hazards and
disasters. Everyone on this Globe either directly or indirectly is facing the
impact out of theses hazards and disasters which are alarming with or without
solution. The recent health hazard or environmental emergency all over the
Globe is alarming. The positive view of such unhealthy situation or environment
is to look for better solutions as opportunities. Civil Society Organizations
(CSOs) do play significant role along with Government and Private on
partnership basis to reach the unreached with strategies as solutions with sustainability
and quality. The initiatives are need based and resulted impact is significant
to work for the wellbeing of People, Environment and Nation. The models and strategies
of the study are simple, flexible, scalable, replicable and sustainable.

Statement of the Problem
Exploitation, Mismanagement, and unhealthy
Utilization of Natural Resources and resulted Pollution added with the approach
of Business Oriented Development ends up with the occurrence of hazards and
disasters affecting people with poor quality of life (QOL).
Initiatives
Author
has got wide experience over the last four decades in the management of Developmental
Projects or Activities and Hazards and Disasters covering major part of the Nation
and some of the key initiatives and reflections include:
1.
Created
Awareness with Advocacy mode on various aspects like: need of development, availability
of resources, processes of development, production of products, generation of
wastage and its management, role of Government, Private and Civil Society Organizations,
model of DIME and PART, Capacity Building, Preparedness, and other aspects
connected with development, hazards and disasters.
2.
Used
set of Geotools covering Geological, Hydrological, Geophysical (both Surface
and Borewell or subsurface), Geochemical, and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
supported with Geographic Information System (GPS) and other software at the
stage of mapping, data collection, data processing, assessment, interpretation,
decision making, execution, monitoring, evaluation, documentation, reporting,
sharing, dissemination, publicity, publication and marketing with better
visibility.

Associated
with teaching to the students at various levels like Schools, Colleges and
Universities focusing more on Resources, Development, Technologies, Production
with Productivity, Utility and Dumping, Waste and Disposal, ways of Monitoring
and Evaluation, Documentation and Reporting, Management of Hazards and
Disasters, Community Participation, Social Auditing, and other aspects with practical
exposure.

Conducted
various training programmes for various Stakeholders at all the stages
covering: need of development, inputs and resources, planning and implementation,
monitoring and evaluation, use of technologies, waste and its disposal, causes and
management of hazards and disasters, community based rehabilitation (CBR).

Supported
for Research Study at Universities, other Educational Institutes and Civil
Society Organizations (CSOs or NGOs: Non Governmental Organizations) giving priority
for Resource Mapping, Development, Project Management, Management of Hazards
and Disasters, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Media and Disability, Water
Security, Urbanization, Global Warming and Climate Change, Social Auditing, Pollution
and Environment, Food Security, Community based Initiatives, Urbanization and Transportation,
Sustainable Development, Social Marketing, Accessibility and Universal Design, Livelihoods
and Entrepreneurship, Resource Mobilization and Management, and other issues
related with the empowerment of people and community with improved wellness and
sustainability.
6.
Supported
to organize (including presentation) several Workshops and Seminars by
Government, National Institutes, Universities and other Educational Institutes,
Research Institutes, Private Agencies, NGOs, and other Agencies covering:
Development, Project Management, Skill Development, Capacity Building,
Livelihoods, Entrepreneurship, Mobilization of Resources, NGO Management, Community
Based Rehabilitation (CBR), Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation and
Empowerment, Agriculture and Food Security, Water Resources and Water Security,
Pollution and Environment, Hazards and Disasters, Inclusion and Accessibility, Education
and Empowerment, Poverty and Income Generation Activity, Sanitation and WASH,
Exploration and Excavation, Mining and Management, Community Development, and
other need based matching to the wellbeing of People and Communities.

number of study papers in Journal (National and International), Edited Books, Souvenirs
(Seminars and NGOs) covering various aspects like Development, Hazards and
Disasters, Management, Media and Disability, Pollution and Environment, Agriculture
and Food Security, Water Management and Security, Urbanization, Waste Management,

Protection, Global Warming and Climate Change, Social Auditing, E Marketing, Resources Mobilization, Corporate Social Responsibility,
and other aspects related with the People and Communities.

Associations or Agencies for getting required services and supports.

for the Networking and Connectivity among Government, National Institutes, Research
Institutes, Academic Institutes, Private, Corporate, Funding Agencies (both National
and International), and other related Agencies connected with Development,
Mining, Hazards and Disasters.
10. Actively connected with various E Forums
connected with Development, Pollution, Ecofriendly Environment, Hazards and
Disasters, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Accessibility, and other such for
effective sharing and dissemination. Maintaining Blogger and connected with various
stakeholders with regular posting of the initiatives taken up from time to time.
11. Mentoring selected Civil Society Organizations
(CSOs) working both in rural and urban covering areas like: Water, Health, Sanitation,
Disability, Education, Agriculture, Skill Development, Capacity Building, Employment,
Livelihoods, Income Generation Activity, Microentrepreneurship, Homes for
Orphans and Oldage, Environment, Hazards and Disasters, and other needs of the People,
Communities and Nation. This process of Development as a Mentorship following multisectoral
and multidisciplinary approaches covers Legal, Administrative, Financial, and Technical
(LAFT) domains for better participation, accountability, responsibility and transparency
(PART).
12. In view of the limitations of Government,
Private and Corporate, Funding Agencies, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)
while serving the People, Communities and Nation, connecting various stakeholders
to come on to a single platform known as Government, Private and CSOs Partnership
(GPCP) with better coordination to work on the mode of Designing, Implementation,
Monitoring and Evaluation (DIME) with better Participation, Accountability, Responsibility
and Transparency (PART) so that needed products, services and supports can be made
Available, Accessible and Affordable (3As) to all.
The
initiatives taken up are need based with innovation and creativity, and resulted
for reaching the unreached targeted groups with better solutions with quality
and sustainability. The process is going on with various Stakeholders and Agencies.
Recommendations
In view of the alarming situation of
Development and resulted Hazards and Disasters, the study needs to be continued
and recommendations made include:
Ø
To
organize more Awareness cum Advocacy programmes for various Stakeholders on all
related domains of Development Vs Hazards and Disasters.
Ø
To
train Students at Schools, Colleges and Universities to be the volunteers for
facilitating the communities to develop healthy and sustainable systems.
Ø
To
support for the research work in the areas of Development, Environment and
unhealthy vulnerabilities and challenges.
Ø
To
organize workshops and seminars to stakeholders at all levels in the related domains.
Ø
To
support for the achievement of the targets and indicators of Sustainable Development
Goals for inclusive, integrated, ecofriendly and sustainable development
Ø
To
support for the effective and efficient utilization of e-forums with better access
as a virtual platform for reaching larger groups with updates on regular basis.
Ø
To
support Civil Society Organizations to work with Government and Private &
Corporate on Partnership basis.
