Dear All
To answer majority of the present day issues / challenges / vulnerabilities / hazards / disasters, people expects Service Delivery System (SDS) matching to their needs and environment. It is possible to have such need based SDS when we all are committed with concern for the health & wealth of the People & Environment. One of the key barriers is the selection of mode of APPROACH. At present, it is mostly dominated by the TOP DOWN APPROACH (TDA) where 'one' decides what 'others' wants. It is one of the major issue to get the limited results while reaching the people with matching services / supports / resources.
To enhance the effectiveness of the SDS, the other option is to adopt the BOTTOM UP APPROACH (BUP) which is based on the needs of the people.
To balance the need of the hour is to adopt the combination of TDA & BUP with the concept participatory starting from the stage of Conceptualization, Development, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation (CDIME).
The collaboration of GO-NGOs will help to have need based CDIME with the combination of TDA + BUA.
