It is the fact that WATER is the life saving natural resources and nothing can be imagined with out WATER.
In this direction the CSE in its DTE has brought an innovative model of BERIES used in Thar Village of Rajasthan (read more at: http://www.downtoearth.org.in/content/beris-rescue).

Congratulations to the Author for brining such innovative (Beris to the rescue: DTE, 16-30th Jan 2013) such innovation for harvesting rainwater in Thar village of Rajasthan. The process of development of Beries and use of stored water for drinking as well as for irrigation in the villages of Rajsthan are the role models for others in the same region and other parts of the Nation to follow. Beries are simple and east for development as well as to maintain.
For better use of this innovations some suggestions include:
£ Create more awareness among the people and other stakeholders in respect of Beries and the need of rainwater harvesting.
£ Concerned departments of the State and Central Government should support for the required inputs.
£ The local panchayat can support for the development of Beries through th scheme of MGNREGS.
£ The local communities and the NGOs should be given this responsibility for better sustainability.
Hope, these simple measures can resolve the water crises with better sustainability in terms of quantitatively and qualitatively which further enhances the health & wealth of the people & environment.
